The Caledonian Canal runs through the heart of Fort Augustus village with 5 canal locks running through it . Fort Augustus is within easy reach of Urquhart Castle, Isle of Skye and Eilean Donan Castle, Inverness and Fort William, Mallaig and Ullapool. We are 2 miles from the Great Glen Way and can offer our guests a lockable shed to store mountain bikes and a pick-up service from Fort Augustus village for walkers by prior arrangement. We have hard-standing for motor bikes with outside tap for washing down vehicles and an outside drying area for wet clothing. Packed lunches also available on request. We offer our guests a relaxing atmosphere surrounded by mountain and river walks just outside your door. Sit and admire the mountain views from the conservatory or relax in our Guest Lounge with wood burning stove or play a game of pool on our antique style pool table. A82 Northbound - Road: DO NOT USE SATNAV. Upon entry to Fort Augustus village. Continue travelling north past petrol station on the left. Continue past Tourist car park and take the next left up Bunoich Brae up a short sharp hill. Continue untill you reach the T junction and turn left past the childrens swing park. Continue along for approx 500 m where the road turns to the left into a single track road. Continue past the Forestery Commission Office for approx 2.5m where you will see Auchterawe Country House on the left.A82 Southbound - Road: From A82 southbound approx 1m before the village of Fort Augustus turn next right after The Inch Hotel. Continue until the T junction, turn right past the childrens swing park on the left. Continue along for approx 500 m where the road turns to the left into a single track road. Continue past the Forestery Commission Office for approx 2.5m where you will see Auchterawe Country House on the left.
